I had the recent privilege of supporting and caring for my Grandfather Bob, officially the oldest man on the planet in the last three months of his life. I sat by his side and either chatted to him, fed him, read to him or painted as he snoozed. He passed peacefully onto his next great adventure in the early hours of Thursday 28th May, in his own home with his hand held. His body was anointed and lovingly watched over in candlelit vigil until morning as he detached fully from his long serving physical vehicle to be warmly welcomed back into the realm from which he came, 112 years ago.

The resulting "TRANSITION" watercolours are a series of small paintings made at his bedside during the time I spent with him. The delicate tonal shifts in layered watercolour might hint at the importance of the constant infinitesimal transitions that constitute life's ever changing nature.
