CONTEMPORARY ART

BURNT WOOD

AT COP26

We are delighted to announce that the major scuplture installation BURNT WOOD has been selected for display at the UN COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November 2021. The interactive structure, 5m x 4m and 4m tall is made from 100% recycled plastic waste packaging and can be found in the Green Zone on the conference concourse. It is hoped that the work proves to be a social focal point at COP26 on which people can sit, enjoy a fairtrade coffee, have their photo taken and discuss the vital issues of the day. Representing five scarred and charred trees rising from a barren, burnt block landscape with integral patches of bright green emerging from the charcoal, BURNT WOOD retains remote optimism that all might not yet be completely lost to the climate crisis inferno. Let's hope COP26 brings much needed positive change for the benefit of people and planet.
